Gays, Lesbians, and Bisexuals

Everything about Gays, Lesbians, and Bisexuals in The Quran

Everything about Gays, Lesbians, and Bisexuals in The Quran

The Quran speaks highly of matrimony and sexuality in Islam is, for the most part, led by the Quran, Islamic traditions, and religious leaders. The universal consensus is that sexual intimacy should be confined to marital relationships between husbands and wives.

On the subject of abnormal sexual behaviour, sexual encounters between men are mentioned in the Quran but details of lesbian pursuits are absent in the Quran.

Sexual encounters among men are referred to as ‘acts of sodomy’ (anal sex) and these homosexual acts are harshly condemned, deemed unnatural, and its practitioners regarded as acting senselessly and engaging in abominations.

The characteristics of ‘effeminate men’ and ‘masculine women’ are common references used to identify gays in the Quran.

The holy book recounts the kingdom of Sodom and its neighbouring city Gomorrah which were completely consumed by fire. In Islamic traditions the fall of both cities’ serves as the proverbial expression of Allah's wrath against an entire township of sinners. The story of Lut (Lot in the bible), is reported in the Quran with slight variations, of which, the key distinction in the Quran rendition is that the total destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah was exclusively based on the homosexual and bisexual activities of the men of both cities. The men were engaged in sodomy with each other and also straight sex with their wives.

Homosexuality under shariah law is a crime against God. The criminal aspect of gay conduct emanates from the Prophet Muhammad, considered to be the perfect example (Uswa Hasana).

The Muslim majority in the East accept the harsh treatment of homosexuals as perfectly justified.

The Prophet Muhammad himself stated

“If you find anyone doing as Lut's people did, kill the one who does it, and the one to whom it is done”.
