Rejecting Islam

Everything about rejecting Islam

Everything about rejecting Islam

A person who abandons all religious belief is titled an ‘apostate’.

The term also includes a person who consciously renounces converts to another religion.

To put it simply, an apostate, is a defector, and in Islam, the act of apostasy is heretical and blasphemous.

The scope of apostasy includes anyone who questions or denies any of the fundamental doctrines of Islam, such as the supreme divinity of Allah, and the prophet-hood of Muhammad, along with those who ridicule the Islamic faith, and or worship idols.

A person born to a Muslim family who later renounces Islam is called a murtad fitri, whilst a person who previously converted to Islam and then renounces the faith is called an amurtad milli.

Renouncing Islam for another religion is classed under ‘religious crime and civil liability’. Under ancient sharia law; all male religious defectors must be put to death, except those who are mentally unsound, or those forced to renounce Islam under extreme duress. A female apostate may either be executed or imprisoned until she reverts back to Islam.

The civil penalties for converting to another religion are also unforgiving.

The property of the apostate is seized and distributed to their Muslim family members.

The Apostates marriage is annulled.

Their children are removed and turned over to the Islamic state.

If the apostate has no family then their property is liquidated by the state.

If the apostate is imprisoned, rather than executed, the person loses all inheritance rights.

“Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers”.                      (Quran 48:29)
“Allah’s Apostle said, ‘Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him’”.

(Hadith - Bukhari 84:57)
