Everything about the human body in The Bible
Biblical Scripture overflows with references to the human body and its significance in the physical undertaking of our existence and the body’s multi-faceted role which includes the containment of our spiritual selves, the human spirit.
“Do you know that your body is a temple”. (Corinthians 6:19)
The Bible expands on our body’s capacity to function at different paces and for different purposes, the strong and the weak alike need nourishment, care, medicines, physical activity, and most importantly, an upright and moral purpose.
We are to develop our physical form through proper nourishment and the avoidance of poisons, respect our bodies, and use our physical bulk to tame the earth, harvest food, build homes, and work hard to improve our approach to living.
Our bodies should not be bought and sold, soiled, defiled exploited and used for the physical intimidation of others.
The body is physical presence, aura and raw power without restraint; an alliance of smooth skin, supple fresh, robust muscle, and powerful bone that are forever restless and aggravated, repeatedly growing tense, tired and soar, easily corrupted, poisoned, influenced ad mislead.
To avoid self-harm we must learn over the years to control the body and so lighten the load on the mind and the spirit.
“I Discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified” . (Corinthians. 9:27)
“Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of the your stomach and your frequent illnesses”. (Timothy 5:23)
“..So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” . (Corinthians. 10:31)
